Arthur J. Camacho was reunited with the love of his life on March 8th, 2025, his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolores Ruggieri Camacho. Dolores passed in 2017, and Arthur missed her dearly. He looked forward to the day they would be together again.
Arthur lived a long, happy life and passed peacefully in his sleep in the family home where he and Dolores raised their three sons.
Arthur’s survivors include his three sons, their spouses and fourteen grandchildren:
Archie and Pat Camacho - Scott Singley, Chris Singley (Sue), Stephen Singley (Georgeanna)
Dana and Lisa Camacho - Brianna Vettese (Nick), Dane Camacho, Caitlin Camacho (Brandon), Shane Camacho, Michael Dunn (Madison), Justin Dunn, Robby Dunn (Penny) and Jessica Antrilli (Preston).
Craig and Donna Camacho – Cara Camacho, Cameron Camacho (Dominique) and Michael Bonito (Courtney).
He was also a beloved “Pop-Pop” to twenty-one great grandchildren:
Natalie, Sienna, Amelia, Delaney, Dominic, Vanessa, Cole, Olivia, Sarah, Samantha, Sebastian, Sutton, Sophie, Carly, Kieran, Nathan, Braedan, Justin, Allie, Macy and baby Nathan.
Arthur is also survived by his beloved cousin Kathleen Neary and his aunt, Marita Camacho Quiros (former First Lady of Costa Rica 1962-1966) who is the oldest living person in Costa Rica. Marita celebrated her 114th birthday on March 8th, the same day as his passing.
Arthur was a good friend, loving uncle and “Pop-Pop” to many. Anyone who was blessed to have Arthur as a part of their life will always have many kind words to say about him, especially his caring way, his generosity and how he always put others needs above his own.
Arthur was honorably discharged as a US Army Veteran from the Korean war in 1956. He dedicated his working life to being a baker, a profession he truly enjoyed as well as the many people who had a chance to sample his baked goods. Arthur was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan and an avid fan of the New England Patriot’s, Tom Brady, who he would defend from time to time by using his full name, Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr. He loved watching classic movies and playing slot machines. He enjoyed listening to music composer, André Rieu and his orchestra.
Arthur was the epitome of a family man. He loved listening to his massive collection of albums and enrolled his three children in music lessons at a young age. He would proudly attend the hundreds of sporting events for both his three sons and grandchildren. On many occasions, he would pick up his grandchildren from both kindergarten and grade school and take them to Haverford Pond, the movies or just stop to get them ice cream.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Annunciation Church, 410 Sagamore Road, Havertown, PA, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m., with a funeral mass service beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Arthur’s honor on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Arthur donated to many charities throughout his lifetime with his favorite being St. Judes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Arthur’s memory to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
