Eileen M O'Brien

Eileen M. O’Brien, age 65, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 16, 1959, and later moved to North Wildwood, NJ where she resided for 36 years before returning to Philadelphia in 2024.

She enjoyed movies (low budget B movies, in particular) and music of all varieties and eras. She was also a formidable Scrabble player, a lover of all animals (especially her cats), and a frequent contributor to the SaveAFox Rescue.

Eileen is survived by her four sons Derek O’Brien, Richard McHale Jr. (Stephanie), Jason McHale (Shannon), and Gary Funaro; two granddaughters Kaelyn and Kieran McHale; two brothers James (Teresa) and Francis (Theresa); a sister-in-law Annemarie O’Brien; six nephews; a niece; and many great nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents William II and Edith (Volpe) O’Brien, and brothers William III and Michael.

Eileen shared a lifelong friendship with Kathy Gillaspy, whose family held a special place in her heart.
