

James Benjamin Shaw passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, at Meadowood Senior Living Community in Lansdale, PA. He was 99 years old. He was born in Ranger, TX to the late Roy Lee and Dixie (Elder) Shaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye F. Shaw.
Jim served honorably in the United States Army during World War II where he received the Purple Heart, Legion of Merit, and Bronze Star. Following his discharge from the army he attended UCLA where he met his wife, Faye, where they were both studying chemistry. Upon graduation, he worked as a Chemical Engineer for DuPont and later for Cabot.
Jim and Faye lived in the Boyertown area for 40 years and were very involved with their church and community. While there, Jim delivered Meals-On-Wheels and tutored a young man who was working on getting his GED.
After retirement, Jim and Faye moved to Meadowood Senior Living and enjoyed an active life. They lived at Meadowood for 21 years where they made many friends. During his years at Meadowood, Jim enjoyed woodworking, racquetball, camping, canoeing, fixing things, and traveling with his wife, Faye.
He is survived by his four children, Barbara Lessig, wife of William; Bonnie Buchak wife of Edward; Michael Shaw husband of Sadia Zoubir; and Melissa DeLong wife of James; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at Meadowood Senior Living Community, located at 3205 Skippack Pike, Lansdale, PA, on October 5, at 11:00. His ashes will be buried at the Bertolet Cemetery in Oley, PA where Faye, her parents and her grandparents are buried.
Jim will be missed by his family and friends for his friendly, giving, and caring nature.
