John Peter Pratt, age 80, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 22, 2026, at The Village at LifeQuest in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his two children.
John was born on June 9, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Mary Pratt. He attended Lansdale Catholic High School, graduating with the Class of 1964. During his high school years, John was a talented athlete and earned recognition as a Pennsylvania State Champion Sprinter, an accomplishment he remained very proud of throughout his life.
John married Karen Dee (Van Kleef) Pratt, on December 26, 1967. Together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage until Karen’s passing in 2019. They built a life centered on faith, family, and love, raising their three children in North Wales, Pennsylvania, before later making their home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Following high school, John accepted a track scholarship to Missouri State University. His college plans were interrupted when he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he served his country as a radio operator. After completing his military service, John spent most of his career working in the Information Technology Department at Daltile in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. During his retirement years, he enjoyed working at Polo Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers, where he combined his love of people with his appreciation for classic style.
John was known for always being impeccably dressed and took great pride in his appearance. He never lost his love for running and remained actively involved in the highly accomplished track careers of his children. He enjoyed listening to music, fashion, and most importantly, spending time with his family. John's Christian faith was an important part of his life and guided him through every season. His quiet strength and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his sons, Derek Pratt and his wife, Debra, and Shane Pratt and his wife, Kristen; his grandchildren, Kaylee (Wadsworth) Simcik and her husband, Charlie, along with their daughter, Lucia Elaine Simcik; Alyssa (Wadsworth) Charles and her husband, David; Sophia Pratt; Ivy Pratt; Shane Pratt; Isaac Pratt; and Luke Pratt.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Dee (Van Kleef) Pratt; his cherished daughter, Alicia Elaine Pratt; his brother, Edward Pratt; and his parents, John Pratt Sr. and Mary Bundy Pratt.
Services will be private at the request of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in John’s memory to the Hydrocephalus Association, supporting research, education, and awareness for Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).
Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania at King of Prussia.
