Pegge will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Michael; grandchildren, Amelia LaRue and Samuel (Percy); and her beloved fur family, Bandit, Daisy, Bonkey, Calypso and Solstice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wolfgang; her parents; her brother, Lewis Hubler; and her sister, Marie Boeshore.
Pegge graduated from Tri-Valley High School and met Tom shortly afterward. During their life together, Tom’s career with ARCO took Tom, Pegge and Lisa to many different places. Wherever they landed, Pegge had a wonderful ability to turn the next house into a beautiful home and the next town into a place where her family belonged. Lisa will always remember and appreciate her mother’s willingness to find the next softball team, marching band or activity that would help make each new place feel like home.
Pegge will be remembered most for her concern for others, her warm smile and the love she had for her family. She had countless small ways of showing that love. No matter how late Lisa was out, and no matter how old she became, Pegge always left a light on until she was safely home. Even during her last days, she continued to send Lisa off with the words she had said countless times throughout her life: “Be careful, I love you.” Those words, and that light, will be deeply missed.
She was enormously proud of her grandchildren, Amelia and Samuel. When they were young, Pegge loved driving them to softball and baseball practices and games. As they grew older, that pride only grew. She was always happy to tell anyone who would listen that both of her grandchildren had graduated from Penn State.
Animals held a special place in Pegge’s heart, and the feeling was mutual. Through the years, she somehow managed to become the favorite of nearly every family pet. During her time at Brandywine Seaside Point, her favorite day of the week was when volunteers from PAWS for People arrived with dogs and cats to visit the residents.
Pegge also loved Disney World and Hawaii. She especially enjoyed the fact that she and Mickey Mouse shared a birth year, 1928. Hawaii brought her great happiness, and listening to Hawaiian music continued to bring her comfort even near the end of her life.
Pegge told Lisa not to be sad when she was gone, but instead to remember her with a luau. Her family will honor that wish in their own way, with the love, warmth and Hawaiian music that brought her so much happiness.
Pegge lived a long life filled with family, pets, travel, many homes made beautiful, and countless acts of care for the people around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Pegge’s memory to PAWS for People at https://pawsforpeople.org/donate/ or to a favorite charity of your choice.
