Melvin Jay Kornblatt

Jay dedicated more than 40 years of his professional life to working as a skilled and compassionate optician. He took great pride in helping others and was respected for his expertise and commitment to the optical field.

Outside of work, Jay found joy in photography, traveling, crossword puzzles, and creating lasting memories with his family and friends. He especially treasured time spent with those he loved, and his kindness, free spirit, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jay had a lifelong curiosity about the world and embraced each day with positivity, enthusiasm and an open mind. Whether exploring new places, capturing memories through his camera lens, or simply enjoying good conversation with family and friends, he found happiness in life's everyday moments. His generous heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family will remain an enduring source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

Jay is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Bonnie Kornblatt; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Eleni Kornblatt; his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Peter Constantinidis; and his four cherished grandchildren, Alexander Kornblatt, Lukas Kornblatt, Sofia Constantinidis, and Leo Constantinidis. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever remember his warmth and generosity.

In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Kornblatt and Janet Kornblatt.

In accordance with Jay's wishes, private services will be held for the immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Planetary Society, a tribute to Jay's lifelong curiosity, love of learning, and appreciation for scientific discovery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania at King of Prussia.
