Peter J. Lawrence

Peter Joseph Lawrence passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2026 at the age of 77 surrounded by family. Born to Louise (Petrone) and Harold Lawrence on July 1st, 1948, Pete was a native and resident of Philadelphia. He received his Associate’s degree from Temple University and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Drexel University in Electrical/Industrial Engineering. Pete worked at PECO Energy for over 30 years and was given the moniker “PECO Pete.” Following his retirement from PECO, he worked at PJM Interconnection for several years.

When he was not working, Pete enjoyed a variety of hobbies including woodworking, stained glass, photography, and playing the guitar. He earned his black belt in Taekwondo in 1997. He loved vacationing in Ocean City, NJ every summer with his family. Pete additionally volunteered in a variety of organizations within the community over the course of his life.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Mikus), daughter Claire (Patrick) Myers, and grandson Jackson as well as many other friends and family.

Services will be private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard in order to continue his legacy of giving.
