

Robert LONGO, 89 (Bob) born in Philadelphia in 1933. Bob passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia. He was an officer for Pan American Airways at Philadelphia Overseas Airport. He had the honor of giving President Richard Nixon a tour of the first 747 Aircraft.
He was a very generous giving man and spent his life helping family, friends, neighbors and his local church. He loved going to the casinos and playing cards with family and friends. He loved to share his memories of his parents grocery store “Longo’s Italian Market” in South Philadelphia. He loved just “hanging out” talking, laughing and sharing memories with all the locals. He loved spending time on the telephone. He traveled the world for business and enjoyed his many family visits in Italy.
He was a loving father to Teresa Longo, Carmela Longo and Jerry Longo, loving grandfather (peepop) of Robert & Alexa Derr, Alyssa & Carlie Longo, great grandfather of Robert & Ava, predeceased by his parents Nicola & Carmela Longo (née Police) his siblings Teresa Canonica, Paul, Dominic, Joseph, Michael, Nicholas Longo & Maryanne Blanco.
Bob was selfless, kind and surely loved. He will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 beginning at 10am with Mass to follow at 11am at St. Nicholas Church, 1718 S. 9th Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19148.
His Graveside Service will follow immediately after mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Baily Rd., Yeadon, Pa 19050.
