Thomas Bernard Curyto

Tom met his beloved wife, Lynne (Sawyer), when he was 15 and they were married 6 years later in 1970. Tom graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in Niagara Falls, NY in 1967 and went on to graduate from Ohio State University in 1971 with an Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering degree. Tom and Lynne joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ and served for 26 years in many different capacities. He traveled to Bulgaria and Russia during those years. He loved speaking with people about his faith in Christ and never took for granted how Jesus changed his life.

In 1996 Tom started Polish Water Ice on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey. He created the first recipe in his kitchen in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The company has grown with franchises in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and New Mexico. He loved the fact that his water ice was voted “Best on the Boardwalk” many times.

Over the years Tom was active in his community. He served for years as a Republican committee man; an elder at Christ Community Church and on the Board at Delaware County Christian School. His most precious time was when he was with his family watching his children and grandchildren play sports, being on vacation with them and relaxing at his beach house in Wildwood, NJ. He loved traveling with his friends, working outside, gardening, and sitting on the porch watching the pond. If possible, he never missed the Buckeyes, the Bills and the Eagles play football.

Tom will be incredibly missed by Lynne, his children and their spouses; Tom, Jr. (Kim); Tara (Jason) Adams; Todd (Jennifer); Corey (Charity); his grandchildren Morgan (Spencer) Quinn, Dylan (Sophie), Mikaela, Evan, Taylor, Madison, Sonya, Justin, Joshua, Savannah, Joel, Summer, Jackson; his sister Debbie Curyto; sister-in-law Nancy Gee; brother-in-law, Kevin (Cindy) Sawyer and many nieces and nephews. He was joyfully expecting the arrival of his first great granddaughter.

A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Chapel Chester Springs, 217 Dowlin Forge Road, Exton, PA 19341 on Friday, October 16th starting with a family greeting at 10 am followed by the service at 11.
