Walter Norman Wright Jr.

Born on August 1, 1943, to Catherine and Walter Wright Sr., Walt was raised in Miquan, Pennsylvania, where his father worked at the local mill. Growing up alongside his siblings, he spent his days hunting, fishing, and finding endless ways to enjoy the outdoors and simple pleasures of small-town life.

Walt attended Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, where he earned a varsity letter in football. It was there that he met the love of his life, Eileen Evelyn Zindel. With his trademark sense of humor and athletic prowess, he won her heart, and the two were married in May 1968. Together, they shared a remarkable 57 years of love, partnership, and devotion.

Also in 1968, Walt fulfilled his entrepreneurial dream by establishing Wright's Auto Body. Alongside his brother Jack, he built and operated the business for five decades, earning the trust and respect of the community they served. Today, the shop building still stands as a lasting beacon and reminder of their dedication and hard work.

Family was at the center of Walt's life. He coached his daughters' softball teams and his son's ice hockey teams, generously giving his time and encouragement to countless young athletes. Around the holidays, whether they knew it or not, neighborhood children saw him step into the role of Santa Claus. Walt loved large bowls of ice cream, cheering on the Flyers, and summers with his wife and kids, complete with trips down the Jersey Shore and sun-filled afternoons at Mermaid Lake Swim Club.

Walt was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and role model. Those who knew him best will remember a kind, loving, and caring man whose greatest priority was always his family. He exemplified the values of hard work, dedication, integrity, and loyalty, serving as an example both personally and professionally.

Walt is survived by his children, Stephanie Hannon, Heather Wright, Jennifer Masiko and her husband Greg, and Walter Wright III and his fiancée Hallie; his sister, Joanne Iverson and her husband Millard Reeves; his brothers, John Wright Sr. and his wife Marguirite and Joseph Wright and his wife Leslie; and his grandchildren, Daniel and Thomas Hannon and Madilyn and Gregory Masiko Jr. He also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Walt's legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to family will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
