Delores M. Rider

Delores Mae Heffner Rider age 90 passed away on June 2, 2026 at Penn State Hampton Hospital in Enola, PA. She was born in Franklintown, PA to Lester and Helen Wehler Heffner on April 29, 1936. She completed 10th grade at Bermudian Springs High School.

She worked at the Franklintown Post Office, pants factory in Dillsburg, had a state approved licensed day care in the home for about 20 years. She was also a school crossing guard for the borough of Shiremanstown at the corner of Green and Locust Street.

Her favorite pass-times was her cat Zach and watching the Philadelphia Phillies play. She also enjoyed traveling and camping with her friends.

She is survived by her four children and three grandchildren. Bonnie (Charlie) Bartch, Randy (Mona) Rider, Gary Rider and Carol (Eric) Slaseman, Taryn (Ben) Beaver, Colin Rider and Michael Slaseman.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ralph Rider; her mother, Helen and Father Lester Heffner.

Memorial Services will be held at Shiremanstown Church of God 35 S. Locust Street Shiremanstown, PA 17011 with Pastor Jim Moss officiating on June 6, 2026. Meet and Greet at 10-11 AM and service at 11 AM. Fellowship will follow the service in the church Social Hall.
