
Earle was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1954. He was a retired math teacher having recently taught at C.D. East Jr. High but over the years taught at Penbrook Jr. High, Camp Hill High School and Lower Paxton Sr. High. Earle was the wrestling coach for Central Dauphin's first wrestling team and Red Cross water safety instructor. He graduated from John Harris High School in 1948 and earned a B.A. from Gettysburg College in 1952.
Earle was a lifelong Republican and a member of NEA, PSEA, Harrisburg Bridge Club, American Legion Post #1001, NRA, Dauphin County chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and an avid fisherman.
A devoted family man, Earle leaves the following survivors: his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Louise (Hoffsommer) Taylor; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryne and Dennis O'Hara; son and daughter-in-law, Earle F. III and Ellen (George) Taylor; granddaughter and husband, Kayly and Nathan Newcomer; grandson and wife, Corin and Jennifer (Ream) Teeters; great-grandsons, Holden and Ethan Newcomer; great-granddaughter, Sydney Teeters; brother-in-law, George Hoffsommer; and nieces Karen and Elizabeth Hoffsommer. Also left to mourn are many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Auer Cremation Services of PA, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hershey Medical Center.
