G. Thomas Parry Jr.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 2nd, 1934, he was the son of the late George T. and Marietta L. Parry. Tom was a graduate of John Bartram High School and Drexel University.

Tom was a talented singer who attended St. Peter’s Choir School in Philadelphia in his boyhood years and went on to serve as soprano soloist for a number of churches during his lifetime. Singing was his joy and passion; he shared his gift with many people in his circle of family and friends by performing at weddings and other occasions. He was extremely active in his church and community throughout his life, volunteering with various civic organizations, most recently for the Wayne County Historical Society. Tom was a kind and thoughtful man with a quick wit and never-ending positive attitude. He leaves behind many devoted friends and his beloved family, for whom he was a strong and steady influence.

A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Virginia G. Parry; his sons, David G. Parry of Boiling Springs and Stephen T. Parry of Mechanicsburg, PA, stepsons Harry Turner and the late William Turner Jr.; daughters, Nancy L. Wevodau of Dillsburg and Susan B. Parry of Camp Hill, PA; adoring grandchildren, Michael D. Parry, Kevin J. Parry, Kyle T. Parry, Nicholas J. Parry, Ashley R. Spatafora, Sara L. Mattrick, Melissa M. Welch, and Mollie M. Petit; step-grandchildren August, Tristan, Joseph and Haley Turner, Josh and Dylan Knaub as well as six great-grandchildren (and counting!) and his former late wife, Judith N. Parry, of Camp Hill, PA. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma L. Parry and Marilou P. Spaeth.

A private family memorial service was held Sunday, October 31 at Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs, PA. A public celebration of his life will also be held on Sunday, December 12th at The Mechanicsburg Club, 333 Heinz Street in Mechanicsburg PA from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
