

Jeanne Stine DeLong passed away on Sunday, September 20, surrounded by family and love. Born May 29, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Rev Cawley H. Stine and late Emma Witmeyer Stine. Emma died when Jeanne was two years old and she was raised by her stepmother, the late Ruth Sellers Stine. After graduating from Harrisburg’s John Harris High School in 1947 she attended Lebanon Valley College where she majored in music and graduated in 1951. There she met her husband, the late George A. DeLong, and they were married for 51 years until his death in 2002.
After retiring from the PA Department of Revenue in the early 1990s Jeanne did volunteer work with the Lancaster County Historical Society, Manheim Township Library, and the Fulton Theater. She was also a Democratic Committeewoman in Manheim Township, and served in various capacities at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster.
Surviving are her son David of Lancaster, PA, a daughter Andrea Kranz, married to Larry Kranz of Lutz, FL, and five grandchildren. Predeceasing her is a daughter, Gayle DeLong, and Jeanne’s siblings Evelyn Zigler, C. Richard Stine, John Stine, and Robert Stine.
