

Shontay Yvette Carelock passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Harrisburg Hospital.
She left behind her longtime partner and companion Edward L. Rice. Edward and Shontay were life long partners, were she went he was right beside her.
Her loving children, eldest son, Timothy L. Carelock, Sr., her only daughter Janay N. Carelock, and youngest son Tristian L. Carelock, Sr. She loved when all her children got together. She always wanted them to stand beside each other so she could take pictures. She leaves to celebrate her life, mother Barbara A. Rice, father Joseph Solomon, brother Dontal L. Carelock, Sr. and Sister Darmayne Robertson, along with brother in-law, Willard Robertson. She leaves behind her five grandchildren that she adored and loved beyond everything in life. Javion, Timothy Jr., Kyla, Oliviah and Tristian Jr. Carelock. Very special friend, Vanessa Young, even though the distance, they never missed a beat! She also leaves behind uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, and her loving grand pups, who she loved to play with and take care of!
Shontay received her formal education at Getty D. Broome High School Spartanburg, South Carolina then attended Lincoln University, Spartanburg Technical College and University of New York, Manhattan, NY.
Shontay was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and the life of the party. Even when she experienced pain in her leg, she wouldn’t complain! She would put her prosthetic on and did anything she would put her mind to do! Shontay loved to dance! Shontay loved cooking, she cooked huge meals and loved making sure everyone enjoyed her food. Shontay loved helping her community making sure the children from local schools had school supplies, she would have a block party every year, to give back to her neighborhood and community! Shontay volunteered at the Polling booth, and was a judge of elections in Harrisburg, Allison Hill section. Shontay loved reading books, playing card games and singing. She loved posting inspirational quotes on Facebook, always gave the most encouraging advice. Shontay was the true definition of a warrior! She lived and loved her life!
Shontay will truly be missed by family and friends, but we want to remember all the wonderful memories she shared with us all.
