Thomas Reilly Moe, age 78, passed away peacefully of natural causes in his Harrisburg, Pennsylvania home in September 2026.
Born on January 15, 1948, in Harrisburg, Tom was the son of the late Rud and Alice Moe. He grew up in a large, vibrant household and was a proud graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School before continuing his education at Harrisburg Area Community College.
Tom was a dedicated patriot, honorably serving his country as an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he became a familiar face in the local community through his years of hard work at the Yellow Cab Company and Mother's Sub Shop. He later transitioned to a long career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked diligently until his retirement.
Family was a cornerstone of Tom's life. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rud and Alice Moe, and his cherished siblings: Mary Alice, Jeanette, Sigrid, Margaret (Peggy), Kirsten, and Rud.
Though Tom had no children of his own, his legacy lives on through his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom loved him deeply. "Uncle Tom" will be remembered fondly for his gentle spirit, his dedication to his country, and the quiet devotion he showed to his family.
Tom will be laid to rest with Military honors at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the family's discretion. Memorial contributions may me made in his honor to the Harrisburg Heart Associations or any Veterans support organizations.
