
William Schoffstall, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Colonial Park Care Center. Born October 9, 1926 in Tower City, PA and raised in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Jenny (Boyer) Schoffstall.

A veteran of WWII, he was a paratrooper for the SV Co. 188th Parachute Infantry. William was a Boy Scout leader who loved camping and fishing. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys, reading and making mechanical repairs. He retired from United Parcel Service, was a member of Evangelical Free Church of Hershey and was a member of Teamsters Union #776.

Surviving William are his loving wife, Grace Schoffstall; daughter, Diane Wiedemann (Mark); daughter, Carol Hartwell; son, David Schoffstall (Joann); son, Richard Schoffstall; daughter, Jan Bell; son, Scott Schoffstall; daughter, Melissa Crosset (John); 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, William is predeceased by his daughter, Gail Schoffstall; brother, Lyman Schoffstall; and sister, Pearl Heckert.

A memorial service will be held at his church, 330 Hilltop Rd., Hummelstown, PA 17036, at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William's honor to Grane Hospice, 4 Lemoyne Dr., Ste. 201, Lemoyne, PA 17043 or to his church. Arrangements by Auer Cremation Services of PA, Inc.
