

Mark Andrew Naumann, age 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Kane Scott Community Living Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mark (known to all as ‘Bear’) was born on April 1, 1960, in Massillon Ohio. He graduated from Baldwin High School, Pittsburgh, and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Saipan which took him to numerous ports of call around the world.
After his Navy service, Mark worked as a plumber for many years in the South Hills.
Mark loved to fish from an early age while growing up on Long Island, NY. His fishing rod and tackle box were always nearby, and he loved to join buddies on a charter boat to fish for walleye on Lake Erie, generously sharing his catch with family and friends. Mark will be remembered for passing his love of fishing onto others including taking great pride in selecting and purchasing his niece and great nephew their first fishing rods.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Edward Naumann; sister, Kristy Knouff; and former wife, Deanna Gallagher Naumann, with whom he found reconciliation, renewed friendship and love until her untimely passing in 2025.
He is survived by his mother, Joan Naumann; brothers, Michael (Deni) and Daniel; sister, Jennifer (Tim) Hadley; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 933 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (https://stmarkbrookline.wixsite.com/smlc/donate) or Presque Isle Partnership (www.discoverpi.com/support).
