David Crawford

David Arndry Crawford, age 71, died on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at his home in East Stroudsburg, PA. He passed after a recent diagnosis that lead to cardiovascular complications and cardiac arrest.

He was born in Washington, Georgia to Mary Agnes Stokes (deceased) and Edward Crawford (deceased) and was the second eldest of 7 boys. Alongside his mother, he was raised with love by his stepfathers Albert Carter and Johnie Jones (deceased).

David met the love of his life, Banita, in high school. They were sweethearts for 54 years, married for 44 years, and had 3 loving children and a beautiful granddaughter.

For the majority of his career he worked at Lowenstein Sandler LLP (NJ) and was key to daily operations at the firm, a valuable player on their sports teams, and loved by all before retiring in 2008. He came out of retirement and was “fun” employed at Wyndham Shawnee Village Resorts (PA), managing the resort’s recreational activities. Most recently, he worked at Sanofi Pasteur (PA). David spent many years as an active member of Faith Fellowship Ministries (NJ) and volunteered in the audio visual department.

He was an active runner who completed multiple marathons, and played competitive sports (football, basketball, baseball, and softball) throughout his life. You could find him having fun at the pool, on the skating rink floor, singing Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” at karaoke, relaxing in his home movie theater, tinkering with and displaying his award winning classic MG, or sitting on the deck enjoying the company of the local birds.

David was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Johnie Jones, and older brother James Howard Crawford. He is survived by his wife Banita Crawford, his daughters Davita Crawford and Moriah (Remi) Oke, son David Arndry Crawford II, granddaughter Sade Ifeya Oke, his 5 brothers Guy (Cheryl) Stokes, Aaron Carter, Mark Carter, Elgin Carter, and Judd (Del) Jones, his sister-in-laws Tanya (Harold) Cavaness and LaRay Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved family members.

David made a lasting impression on everyone he met, touching their hearts with his kindness, generous spirit, and quiet wisdom. He always lit up a room with his positive energy and bright smile.
