Jay William Lane

Born June 7, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was the son of the late Gerald and Mary Jo Ledford Lane.

Jay served as a Lutheran pastor after attending Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkely, California. He and his wife, Debbie, served as missionaries in Latin America while raising their newborn twins. Jay and Debbie went on to have 5 biological children and had also adopted 4 grandchildren.

Later in life, Jay obtained a degree in education and became a high school Spanish teacher until his retirement in 2015.

Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Lane, in 2018; his father Gerald, in 2024; and his niece and brother-in-law in 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons, Matthew, Joshua, Isaiah, and his wife, Chrissy, and Andrew; daughter, Elizabeth Eberts; grandchildren, Joshua Jr., Tiffany, Jacob, Drew, Jamison, Blake, Joshua Eberts, and Jacob Ebert; step grandchildren, Nathan Remmi and Shane Remmi.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any homeless shelter of the donor's choice.
